HELLO! My name is Melody and I am a licensed massage therapist in Orange County, California.

After 10 years in the corporate field of public relations and marketing, I felt compelled to make a change in order to combine my love of working with people and my passion for holistic wellness. Thus, I attended California College of Physical Arts and became a Licensed Massage Practitioner.

Working with a variety of clients ranging from individuals looking for relaxation to those working to overcome injuries through a therapeutic massage approach, I specialize in an integrative blend of Swedish and Therapeutic practices to provide pain relief, release of muscle tension, stress reduction, improved circulation and more.

Becoming a massage therapist has brought me to a place of where I am able to practice living in the moment by focusing on and helping others in body, mind and spirit through bodywork, wellness and better health.

I graduated from CalCopa Massage School as a Holistic Health Practitioner in 2003 and have been teaching there ever since.  I never would have dreamed my career in massage would last this long and that I'd still wake up happy to go to work. The massage field is always growing, because of that I am always learning.

I have a degree in Social and Behavioral Science, allowing me to adapt my treatments and teaching to better fit the needs of students and clients. I have worked in many massage environments, including chiropractic offices, massage centers, sport events and privately.

Having three children, 5 and under, which means their schedule dictates mine. The massage field gives me the flexibility to take a day off if they get sick or if there is an event in their life I don't want to miss. Along with traditional school, I also homeschool them - I guess the teacher in me isn’t limited to a classroom. My kids understand physiology and bodywork. My four year old daughter recently asked me why I work so late. I told her that some people like to get a massage before they go to bed, her answer was: “that is so healthy”. This is the legacy I leave in pure simplicty.

I am blessed to work as the Community Relations Director at Pacifica Senior Living Newport Mesa Memory Care in Costa Mesa, helping families and their loved ones with the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s.  I still live in Fullerton where I have many wonderful memories of raising my son.  I enjoy music, yoga, reading, anything vintage, restoring dolls of the art deco period, nature and camping, and spending time with my son, his fiancé and her two precious little girls.  I have a new love in my life that has added much new joy to my life and restored my faith in love again.

After I finished my degree at the University of Wisconsin, I moved to Los Angeles, where I spent a decade working in publishing and printing. After all those years of deadlines and spreadsheets, a flexible schedule allowed me to attended massage therapy classes at IPSB, the Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing, in Culver City, CA. Since then, I've become a full time massage therapist. I studied many different modalities and discovered a passion for pain science, which I use to inform my work with clients who are managing chronic pain or in post-surgical recovery. There are few things more satisfying than helping a client rediscover relaxation, increase range of motion, or simply feel better than they did at the start of the session.
