The Comfort of Palliative Care

Palliative Care is a specialty approach for people with serious illnesses. This process focuses on providing patients with relief from both emotional and physical pain and stress regardless of the diagnosis - typically used as support alongside curative treatments. Palliative Care is beneficial at any stage of illness regardless of age or diagnosis. The overall aim is to improve the person's quality-of-life.

In addition to the physical aspect, serious illness includes emotional strain. Uncertainty, doubt, concern, and fear often consume both the patient and their family. Wellness and treatment plans can appear daunting. The search for a cure can seem endless. Hope becomes harder to hold on to.

With Palliative Care, and similar support systems, a quality-of-life can be restored and maintained. It is comforting to know there is a community of people within our Nation who are passionate about caring for others. For every problem, there is an answer. For every person, there is someone who cares.
